Welcome to the school year to all my 2nd graders and Parents! I wanted to start out this semester by giving you all some information about me! So here we go....
Ms. Potts and a student from Guatemala |
Ms. Potts' Mom and Brother |
Ms. Potts with her dad and brother |
Ms. Potts as a baby! |
My name is Taylor Potts, but most of you know me as Ms. Potts. I graduated from Taylor University’s education department and now proudly support my degree in Elementary Education and a license in TESOL. While at school I student taught in the inner city schools in Indianapolis and also taught for awhile in Guatemala. This is my 4th year teaching here at Powers, and I must say I enjoy working in the atmosphere that is here. The word family comes to mind when I think about my experience with faculty, staff, and students here at Powers. Another type of family I think of is my Guatemalan family. On my summer’s off I go over to Guatemala and teach English to kids in orphanages. Not only do I love teaching your children here, but I want to spread the joy to those students in Guatemala. I have often found that your kids are the ones that continually inspire me to go to Guatemala and teach. They like to have the pen pals to talk to, and it is adorable when they ask me to take letters and toys to the kids there. So I hope this helps you get to know me a little better, and feel free to email me or contact me! I can not wait to see what wonderful things are going to (continue) to happen this year! God Bless!
